Needing a tux for your big day? We rent tuxes from Derks as well as Black and Lee.
TUXEDO INFORMATION & FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT DO I NEED TO HAVE TO COME IN TO RENT A TUXEDO?
Bride and Groom will require a $100 refundable deposit This means that when the tuxedos are returned with everything together including the rental bag you will receive your $100 back. If they are not returned you will forfeit your $100 and may have to pay a late fee.
Groom and the remainder of the wedding party will put a $50+GST down payment which is taken off the total price when picked up.
We will need these down payments before tuxedos are ordered.
WHAT IS THE PRICE RANGE OF A TUXEDO?
For the full rental they range from $140+GST – $225+GST, this includes everything you need.
DO YOU HAVE RENTALS THERE TO TRY ON IN STORE?
NO. We have nothing in store to try on. We do however have color swatches so that you can match your order to a gown or dress.
CAN WE CHANGE THE COLOR OF THE TUXEDOS, VEST, TIES, ETC?
NO. The books represent a large selection that should appeal to what you need, however what you see in the rental books is all they have. For more customization options, one would have to purchase a suit.
WHEN CAN WE EXPECT OUR TUXEDO TO ARRIVE?
Since it is only a day rental you can expect your tuxedo to arrive 3 – 4 days before your event.
WHEN SHOULD I ORDER MY TUX OR TUXEDOS?
Typically we ask that you come in and order 2 – 3 months prior to the event, if its a more busy time for us like grad and wedding season come 4 months prior.
If you are renting for a child we do not need to measure or order until a month prior to the event. They grow and change so much to have them measured before then.
I NEED MY RENTAL FOR A WEEK FOR GRAD PICTURES OR A DESTINATION WEDDING, WHAT DO I DO?
In the rental books they have what is called a week long rental. You will need to total your rental price and add 50% on top of that price.
I HAVE A GROOMSMAN IN THE WEDDING FROM OUT OF TOWN WHAT DO I TELL HIM TO DO?
He needs to get measure at a nearby menswear store someone who will try a jacket on him. Then he will need to phone, fax, or email those measurements in along with the $50 down payment.
